Catherine Zara Walker (2019-2020) | Guernica 37
Zara is currently a Junior Associate Member and is due to commence pupillage at Guernica 37 in October of 2019.
Catherine ‘Zara’ Walker, is an associate member of Guernica 37, having completed her BPTC in 2018, with an overall mark of ‘Outstanding’
Further to the overall mark, Zara also achieved the highest marks in her in respect of a number of modules, including Advocacy, Criminal Litigation, and Asylum and Refugee Law.
Zara was awarded the ‘Buchanan’ prize from Lincoln’s Inn for outstanding achievement, and the ‘Lord Denning Scholar’ Award, also from Lincoln’s Inn.
Whilst studying, Zara worked as a Caseworker and Accredited Police Station Representative at Reeds Solicitors, a firm with a justified national reputation for excellence, during which she has gained significant experience in preparing cases for Court at all levels of the Criminal Justice system, alongside representing clients at the police station arrested across the full spectrum of offences, including Murder and Sexual Offences.
Her passion for the fair trial rights of defendants before any and all tribunals, nationally and internationally, is clear from the work she has already undertaken, and a central theme to the work she is now undertaking.
