Nema Milaninia is a lawyer in Alphabet's Regulatory Response, Investigations & Strategy team, a specialised team of lawyers that address high-risk issues that involve regulatory scrutiny, enforcement actions, and other emerging risks. Nema previously worked as a Trial Lawyer for the Office of the Prosecutor at the International Criminal Court and as an Appeals Counsel for the Office of the Prosecutor at the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, during which he led investigations, trials and appeals in over 15 matters relating to war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide. He teaches and writes on issues ranging from victim rights, to the crime of genocide, to emerging sources of evidence for international criminal and human rights investigations and sits on the board of various human rights organizations.
