Members of Guernica 37 appeared before the Istanbul High Court in a case concerning the attack on the ‘Mavi Marmara’ Flotilla by Israeli Defence Forces. The attack took place in May 2010 in international waters and led to the death of nine people and the injuring of countless civilians. The fact-finding mission concluded that a series of violations of international law, including international humanitarian and human rights law, were committed by the Israeli forces during the interception of the flotilla and during the detention of passengers in Israel prior to deportation.
